Should the big trip go in the live auction or the silent auction?
For Police & Fire Foundations, placing a headline travel package in the right online auction format changes the night.
Your committee has one shot at a major trip, maybe a Bourbon Trail experience or a golf getaway. Officers and firefighters volunteering their time need to know where it lands. The wrong call can leave money that your memorial fund or equipment goal needs sitting on the table.
A live auctioneer can work two bidders against each other on a big trip. That heat is hard to build at a silent table. For Police & Fire Foundations running community banquets and golf outings, a headline package belongs in the live auction where the room energy pushes the number higher.
The silent tables are for volume. Aim for about one item per seven guests. Those tables let supporters browse at their own pace. A major sports event or fishing excursion will get lost there. Save the silent area for smaller packages that add up.
What to do this week: reserve the headline trip for the live auction and get the marketing material ready. Giveback XP supplies a one-page PDF with photos and details you can drop into any bidding platform. You only pay for an experience if it sells, keep 100% over the cost, and can sell experiences multiple times if the bidding gets hot. You are not too late: items can be added the same day as your event.
After the event, you send the winners' details and the Travel Team handles booking. The trip is off your plate. Your foundation keeps the profit and the donors get up to two years to travel.

A serious auction night changes the math: one or two headline trips plus a full silent table, no upfront cost, and the foundation keeps everything above reserve. Big goals need big line items, not more pancakes.
